Founded by experienced leaders, Jonathan Rodbell and Court Thomas, APG has earned an exemplary track record and renowned reputation.
Jonathan co-founded Atlanta Property Group in 2003. His focus is on equity and debt capital market relationships, oversight of APG’s property operating platform, and supervision of the firm’s administration.
Prior to forming APG, Jonathan spent four years as Vice President of Apex Supply Company, a wholesale distributor of plumbing supplies, heating and air conditioning, and other building materials. Atlanta-based Apex Supply, founded by the Rodbell family in 1949, was acquired by The Home Depot in 2000 and subsequently operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Before moving back to Atlanta, Jonathan worked for Lazard Freres & Co. in New York as an Associate in the Real Estate Private Equity Group. He began his career at JMB Realty/Heitman Financial in Chicago as a member of the acquisitions team.
Jonathan earned a B.S. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of The Westminster Schools, where he remains involved as an active parent. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) New Leadership Network, the executive committee of the Buckhead Coalition, the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He has served on the boards of Camp Sunshine and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. Jonathan is a native of Atlanta and currently lives in Buckhead with his wife, Heather, and their two sons.

Court co-founded Atlanta Property Group in 2003 and focuses on investment strategy, oversight of leasing efforts, and furthering relationships in the Atlanta real estate community.
Prior to forming APG, he spent five years with Lowe Enterprises, Inc., acquiring office and industrial properties on behalf of the firm’s pension fund clients. Prior to Lowe, he worked with GE Capital and The Brookdale Group in a variety of capacities. In total, Court has helped to execute more than $2 billion in commercial real estate transactions over the course of his career.
Court earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University and is a graduate of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta. He currently serves as a member of the Steering Committee for the Steers Center for Global Real Estate at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, a member of the Board of Directors of the Victory Junior Tour, a member of the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta Annual Fund Committee, as a mentor at Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School and has served as President of The Westminster Schools Alumni Association. Professional affiliations include NAIOP and the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. Court is a native of Atlanta and currently lives in Buckhead with his wife, Kristin, and their three sons.

Austin joined Atlanta Property Group in January 2013 and heads the leasing department. During his time at APG Austin and his team have completed over 650 transactions totaling over $185 million in new rental income.
Prior to joining APG, he spent eight years with Lavista Associates, where he represented institutional and local landlords and established a track record developing and executing successful real estate leasing plans. He employed his experience, market knowledge and solid business and community relationships to lease a variety of office assets, including suburban mid-rise buildings, low-rise business parks, and mixed-use developments. He has experience in all phases of the leasing process from financial analysis through lease negotiations.
Austin has been active in the Atlanta real estate market since 2000, specializing in the office market. He is a multiyear member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club and has been recognized as a Costar “Power Broker.” He is a native of Atlanta and attended Woodward Academy and the University of Georgia who now lives in Brookwood Hills with his wife, Meredith, and their two children. Austin is an active parent at Woodward Academy and spends his weekends at Buckhead Baseball and Tophat Soccer.

Shep joined Atlanta Property Group in the summer of 2011 and focuses on acquisitions and dispositions, as well as on equity and debt financings. During his time at APG, he has been involved in principal transactions totaling over $800 million.
Previously, he spent four years in the commercial mortgage banking industry working in the Atlanta office of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, a subsidiary of BB&T. Shep concluded his time at Grandbridge serving as a commercial loan originator. While there, he was involved in over $350 million of closed debt transactions with various capital sources, including life insurance companies, CMBS lenders, and commercial banks.
Shep earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He is a member of NAIOP, serves on the Board of the NAIOP GA Chapter and is a licensed real estate broker in Georgia and North Carolina. He is a native of Atlanta and currently lives in Buckhead with his wife, Elaine, and their three sons.

Having joined Atlanta Property Group in 2007, Jimmy has participated in the firm’s growth from its early years. He focuses on leading APG’s property management teams, and is responsible for successfully managing the unique challenges that arise in the course of owning and operating real estate.
Prior to joining Atlanta Property Group, Jimmy was employed by Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) as Vice President/Group Manager. During his seven years there, he managed various large-scale institutional investments in the Atlanta market, including new development projects. He was also responsible for leasing various projects, ranging from traditional office to bioscience buildings, and served on the region’s new business development team with direct responsibility for new assignment start-up.
Before returning to Atlanta to join JLL, Jimmy lived in Augusta, Georgia, where he worked as a real estate broker and appraiser, specializing in land sales and residential subdivision development. He has held real estate broker licenses in Georgia and South Carolina for over 25 years.
Jimmy earned a BBA and an MBA from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. He is a native of Atlanta and lives in Milton, a suburban community north of the city.

Robert joined Atlanta Property Group in March of 2009 and oversees the finance, accounting, HR and IT departments.
Prior to joining APG, he spent four years with Vornado Realty Trust. New York-based Vornado is the second largest publicly traded REIT in terms of market capitalization and Robert served as the Financial Reporting Manager for the Vornado/Charles E. Smith (Washington DC) division. His responsibilities included overseeing the financial reporting for over 80 properties in the Washington, D.C. area, totaling over 18 million SF of office, retail and residential properties. He also worked on setting up the accounting for all acquisition properties within the D.C. portfolio.
Robert earned a B.S. in Finance from Quinnipiac University, where he graduated magna cum laude, and received his MBA in Accounting from Pace University. He is a native of New Jersey and currently lives in Canton, GA with his wife, Rebecca, and their two daughters.

Ed joined Atlanta Property Group in 2011 and is responsible for leading all engineering, capital projects, construction management and property management services for the APG portfolio.
Prior to joining APG, he was a General Manager for Lincoln Property Company, where he oversaw the APG portfolio as a third- party provider.
With over 30 years of management-level experience in commercial/facility property management, Ed has worked directly with large corporate clients and institutions such as Turner Broadcasting, Coca-Cola, Equifax, GE Capital, Prudential, Equitable, Kimberly- Clark, Contel, and Bellsouth. His role encompassed the application of creative management-by-objective techniques, state-of-the-art engineering technology, and extensive building construction/design/management for both new and existing buildings.
Ed was previously Vice President of Turner Properties, where he managed facilities in Atlanta, New York, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles. Prior to this, he worked as Director and then Vice President for the eight-state Atlanta Region for Compass Management Leasing.
Ed has lived and worked in the Atlanta area for the majority of his adult life. He currently lives in Snellville with his wife, Beth, and spends much of his personal time visiting his three children and nine grandchildren. He and Beth attend First Baptist Church in Snellville.
